Our NHS task was to create a video advertising ‘Become a Member’, the video had to give out key information and persuade people of all ages to join the scheme. The video could only last for 90 seconds and had to be soundless. In our video we focused on the main benefits you receive for being a member so to show people the benefits we acted each of them. This way people we gain a greater understanding and it also looks a lot better the words on a screen.
Strengths + Weakness of our final product
The strengths in the final product has to be the editing and the putting together of the video, considering we didn’t have that many shots to work with and some of the shots we did have couldn’t be used for other reasons, the video cuts and runs smoothly. Another thing that worked really well was the daydream effect that was created in after-effects. It stands out and brings the video to life.
The weakness in the final product is the story line and the camera work. We couldn’t manage to film all the benefits like we wanted so we had to miss small bits out which makes the video difficult to understand. As for the camera work it was okay but we could have done with having different angles and shots. This would have made the video easier to edit and piece together.
Working in a Group
There wasn’t any real problems with the group other them some of the members where lazy and didn’t get much done, but when it came down to it we all got stuck in to get the work done. Other then that the communication in the group could of been better, everyone was being too nice and didn’t really anything when they wasn’t happy. But overall the group worked together well and we all played our part to get the advert finished.
Filming
When it came down to filming everything went perfectly, everyone knew what they was doing and did it to the best of their ability. The only problem we had was with the wide range of shots we wanted but didn’t get, but we did end up getting enough to make the advert run smoothly.
Next Time
If I was to do this advert again I would make sure everything was done properly and not half-heartedly. I would have also made sure that we got the shots we wanted and we filmed everything that we needed to film, because missed bits out made the advert confusing and hard to put together.
Final Product
Our final product worked well and contained the criteria that it need to from the brief. The advert gives viewers an understanding of what is being advertised and what they have to do to ‘sign up’. The advert gives out all the information that it needs to and is easy to follow.
